SHOREWOOD, IL — A 47-year-old Joliet man has been charged with one count of retail theft in connection with allegations that he stole electronics from the Target store on Brookforest Avenue. Officers from the Shorewood Police Department hauled away Jason Phillips in handcuffs on the evening of Nov. 28.

The criminal complaint, filed last week in Will County, states that Phillips knowingly took possession of video games and Beats ear buds from the Shorewood Target store "without paying the full retail value of such merchandise."

Phillips, who lives in the 1900 block of Joliet's Calla Drive, was released from the Will County Jail the following night, Nov. 29. Jail logs indicate that two other police agencies, LaSalle County and DuPage County, also had issued temporary police holds on the prisoner.
