SHOREWOOD, IL — Louie's Pizza was a big part of Shorewood for decades but last summer the business was sold. The new owners renamed the business Panhead Grill & Pizzeria but they insist that they have kept the Louie's Pizza recipe intact.

Panhead is near Route 59. It's directly across the street from the Mark's On 59 restaurant. Panhead's address is 716 Cottage St.

The owner of Panhead Grill & Pizzeria, Jerry Borrego, also owns Bull Pen Sportsbar, which is part of the same building as Panhead Grill.

"They compliment each other," he told Patch last week.

Borrego said he has owned Bull Pen Sportsbar for 13 years. For years, the bar was known as Ron's Sports Lounge.

Amid the new coronavirus outbreak, Panhead is remaining open daily from 3 to 10 p.m. for carryout and delivery orders, Borrego told Patch.

Panhead's menu includes beef burgers, BLT sandwich, sliders, Po'Boy steak sandwich, chicken sandwich, patty melt, Italian beef and cheesy Italian beef.

"The pizza is the same, but the rest of the menu underwent some tweaks. We redid it, and improved it," Borrego told Patch.

Handmade pizzas are available in 9-inch, 12-inch, 14-inch and 16-inch.

Sides include: fries, onion rings, tater tots, mini corn dogs, breaded mushrooms, macaroni and cheese wedges and more. Another section of the menu, called starters, includes chicken wings, Jalapeno poppers, chicken strips, cheese sticks and more.

Panhead Grill & Pizzeria is reachable at 815-741-3959 for carryout and delivery.

"Right now, we're trying to deliver everyday if needed," Borrego said last week.
