Marshalls Opening Route 59 Store In Shorewood

SHOREWOOD, IL — Contractors are busy working this week inside the former Babies R Us store in Shorewood. It's being converted into a Marshalls department store.

The new Marshalls will go near the Staples store in the same shopping plaza along Route 59 that includes the Mariano's grocery store. Bugle Newspapers recently published an article revealing Marshalls would open its new Shorewood store later this year. Babies R Us closed in 2018.

Marshalls will use about 25,000-square-feet of the former Babies R Us store while the remaining 6,000-square-feet will be leased to another tenant, according to the report.

A banner draped across the exterior of the building on Wednesday read, "SPACE AVAILABLE."

Good things continue to happen at the Shorewood Crossing plaza.
