Terrence F. "Terry" Murphy, of Joliet, has passed away peacefully at the age of 71.

Terrence F. “Terry” Murphy, age 71, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, with his loving wife by his side.

Born January 29, 1949 in Joliet, to the late Vernon B. and Dolores (Wedic) Murphy, he was a lifelong Joliet area resident and a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School, Class of 1967, and Joliet Junior College. Terry retired from Exelon Collins Generating Station as an electrical operator after many years of service. He was also a full-time professional magician, past president of the Society of American Magicians, and a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Survived by his loving wife, JoAnn (nee Mikan) Murphy of Joliet; two daughters, Shannon (Joseph) Steg of Channahon and Kelly (Todd) Stengel of Minooka; five grandchildren, Brendon, Mason and Victoria Steg and Bailey and Rowan Stengel; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Terrence F. Murphy will be celebrated Monday, December 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2212 McDonough Avenue, Joliet. Visitation will be held Monday, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., at the church. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Catholic Church would be appreciated.
