Shorewood Parents Celebrate Their Daughter’s Achievement
U.S. Air Force Airman Harlee A. Piszczek graduated from basic military training in the top ten percent of her class in Texas.

Graduation season continues! Shorewood residents Ann and Charles Hovis are celebrating their daughter, U.S. Air Force Airman Harlee A. Piszczek. She recently graduated from basic military training in San Antonio, Texas after a rigorous eight-week program that included military discipline training, physical fitness and more.
This was a major accomplishment for Piszczek. For six out of the eight weeks, she was placed as the element leader of her squadron. She also graduated from training in the top ten percent of her class, which included 675 airmen. With the completion of basic training, Piszczek and the other airmen also earned four credits through the Community College of the Air Force. The credits can be applied toward an associate’s degree in applied science.
Next up, Piszczek will be stationed in Turkey for her first duty during the second half of the year. Congratulations to U.S. Air Force Airmen Harlee Piszczek!
