Shorewood Police Arrest 2 Burglary Suspects From Joliet
Shorewood police are still seeking the community's help in identifying several stolen power tools, deputy police chief Jason Barten said.

SHOREWOOD, IL — Shorewood police arrested a 34-year-old Joliet man and a 29-year-old Joliet woman last week in connection with an overnight vehicle burglary at a neighborhood near the Du Page River. Since then, the Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has charged Connie Grogg and Michael Warfield with burglary and theft, both felonies.
The criminal complaint states that Grogg and Warfield broke into a Shorewood man's Chevrolet Express van and stole his laptop computer.
Shorewood Deputy Police Chief Jason Barten told Patch that officers responded to the burglary call around 4 a.m. May 12 in the 24000 block of States Lane, which is near the Du Page River. The suspects were stopped in a vehicle driven by Grogg, Barten said.

At the time of their arrests, Grogg and Warfield also had in their possession several power tools that may have come from construction equipment, Barten said.
As a result, Shorewood police believe the Joliet co-defendants may have committed other burglaries earlier that night, Barten said.

"We still have the victim's property, and we would like to get it identified," Barten said.
Anyone who believes their power tools may have been stolen in the Shorewood area on the night of May 11 should call Shorewood's Police Department at 815-725-1460 and ask for the investigations unit, Barten said.
Will County Jail logs indicate that Warfield and Grogg were released from the Will County Jail on Wednesday on a personal recognizance bond.
In an unrelated incident, Joliet Patch reported that Warfield was arrested May 7 by the Joliet Police Department at the Walmart store on West Jefferson Street in connection with allegations he stole $218 worth of store merchandise.
