SHOREWOOD, IL — Shorewood police are looking for the gunman who fired several bullets into a Dodge SUV along southbound Route 59 on Saturday morning. The gunfire continued on Route 52. Nobody was injured, according to Shorewood Deputy Police Chief Jason Barten.

The gunman drove a white Chevy Malibu and was last seen heading west along Route 52, which is West Jefferson Street. Shorewood police described the gunman as a young black man in his early to mid 20s with short-length dreadlocks. He had a small black semi-automatic gun, police said.

Around 10:30 a.m., a white Dodge sports utility vehicle and a white Chevrolet Malibu were driving south along Route 59 through Shorewood. As the two vehicles approached the intersection at Route 52, the SUV was stopped in the outside lane of Route 59, police reports show.
