Shorewood-Troy Library FAQ for Reopening

The library will reopen the building to the public on June 15, 2020.

SHOREWOOD-TROY LIBRARY'S FAQ FOR REOPENING TO THE PUBLIC ON JUNE 15, 2020

SHOREWOOD, IL - Shorewood-Troy Public Library will reopen the building to the public on Monday, June 15, 2020, with new hours and social distancing practices in place. Please see below for guidelines.

HOURS

· As of June 15, 2020, library hours will be 9AM-8PM Monday-Thursday and 9AM-5PM Friday-Saturday. The library will be closed on Sundays.

· These hours will be in effect until further notice.

BUILDING ACCESS

· As Curbside Pick Up is discontinued as of June 15, the parking lot traffic will revert to its normal east end entry by the book drop and west end exit. (Lobby Pick Up will be offered; see below.)

· Masks are required to be worn in the library in accordance with governmental guidelines (over age 2). If you do not have a mask and wish to enter the library, the lobby staff member will have masks for sale for $1.

· The library is reserving 9-10AM for senior/immunocompromised patron browsing. Families may use the Children’s Department beginning at 9AM but are requested to immediately proceed downstairs when entering the building.

AVAILABLE SERVICES

· Laptops will be available for 1 hour in-house use on a first come, first served basis. Use is limited to essential tasks such as checking email, online banking, job searching, unemployment filing, etc. Patrons will be able to print from the laptops. There is no fee to use the laptop, but patrons must leave their drivers license, credit card, keys or similar item of value with the Circulation staff while using the laptop.

· Wireless printing, faxing, scanning and copying will all be available.

· Notary service will be available.

· Book-a-Librarian appointments can only be done remotely via email or phone until further notice.

· Passport processing is not available until further notice.

BOOK-RELATED SERVICES

· The library will no longer offer Curbside Pick Up but will offer Lobby Pick Up for patrons who do not wish to come all the way into the building.

· If you wish to use Lobby Pick Up, you must make an appointment to pick up your materials (date/time). Please park in the lot and come to the lobby. A staff member will be on duty in the lobby to assist you.

· Three contactless book drops are available for patrons to return materials: the outside parking lot book drop, the exterior building book drop and the interior red book drop. Please do not try to hand materials directly to staff.

· All returned materials will go into quarantine for 7 days. Please do not attempt to disinfect your items at home.

· RAILS interlibrary loan delivery is scheduled to resume at the end of June. Holds placed may be delayed until RAILS delivery is fully operational.

· All overdue fines are waived through September. This does not include fees for lost or damaged items.

PROGRAMMING AND MEETING ROOM USE

· All programming will be offered online until governmental guidelines allow for safe, large group gatherings.

· Meeting Room A is unavailable to the public until further notice.
