New Card Provides 24-7 Access for Students in District 86 and Joliet 204

SHOREWOOD-TROY PUBLIC LIBRARY ANNOUNCES THE LIBRARY LINK CARD FOR STUDENTS IN SCHOOL DISTRICT 86 AND JOLIET 204

SHOREWOOD, IL – Shorewood-Troy Public Library is pleased to announce intergovernmental agreements have been signed with the following local school districts: District 86 and Joliet 204, in conjunction with the Joliet Public Library. These agreements will allow for all students who are Shorewood-Troy Public Library District residents to easily obtain a library card, which offers 24-7 digital access to the library’s online collections, in addition to traditional print and/or physical resources.

The online collections include:

  • Overdrive e-books and e-audiobooks
  • Tumblebooks (a collection of e-books for children)
  • Biblioboard Library
  • Explora Primary School (covers math, science, history, literature, and more)
  • MAS Ultra-School Edition
  • Middle Search Plus
  • Novelist K-8 Plus
  • Primary Search

“Particularly in light of the pandemic and the challenges schools and families are facing, we are thrilled to be able to serve our community’s students with free and equal access to an ever-expanding collection of age appropriate materials for both learning and recreation,” said Director Jennie Cisna Mills. “Drawing on our existing positive relationships with our local school districts, we believe this new partnership benefits area taxpayers tremendously on many levels.”

To apply for a Library Link card, parents or guardians need to complete an online form that can be found on the library website, https://shorewoodtroylibrary.org/student-library-cards/. Adults may also request a card through this form or by following the Get a Card link on the library website.

The Shorewood-Troy Library is actively working towards similar agreements with the other school districts in our service area.
