Shorewood-Troy Public Library Offers Help in Completing Census
A Census Kiosk with internet access will be located next to the Reference desk on the main floor.

SHOREWOOD, IL – Shorewood-Troy Public Library is preparing to help area residents with their obligation to complete the 2020 Census. The library will host a Census Kiosk next to the Reference desk on the main floor across from Circulation. The kiosk will have Chromebooks connected to the internet where individuals can safely and securely complete the census online. If people have questions or need assistance, a Reference librarian will be stationed nearby.
The U.S. Constitution requires a count every 10 years of every person living in the United States. New in 2020, census responses can be completed online via a computer, tablet or smartphone. Responses can also be made by phone or using a paper questionnaire.
Beginning on March 12, 2020, the Census Bureau will mail every household in the United States an invitation to respond to the census. April 1 is officially Census Day; however, people can respond as soon as they receive the invitation up through the end of April 2020. Beginning in May, census workers will visit households that have not yet registered a response.
