Shorewood's DuPage River Floods Near Seil Road

The National Weather Service has called for a flood warning for Shorewood's DuPage River.

SHOREWOOD, IL -By 3 p.m. the DuPage River that runs through Shorewood had flooded along the banks at Seil Road. Patch Editor John Ferak, a Shorewood resident, pulled over along Seil Road to grab this short video of the DuPage to give you a first-hand view. On Tuesday, it rained all day across the Joliet area, which is only exacerbating the area's flooding. Fortunately, the data model for the National Weather Service only calls for the DuPage River to experience moderate flooding around Shorewood.

The Weather Service classifies the flood stage as being 6.5 feet. At 3:45 p.m., the DuPage River in Shorewood was 7.12 feet. It is expected to reach depths of 8.3 feet around 4 p.m. Wednesday and then the flood waters could begin to recede. Right now, the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning.
