SHOREWOOD, IL — In what may go down as the biggest news story of the month for Shorewood, Casa Maya announced that the long wait is over. Casa Maya officially opens its new restaurant in Anderson's Crossroads at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4.

In the spring, Casa Maya representatives told Patch they hoped to move into the newly built building near Route 59 and Jefferson Street during the month of May. Months later, Casa Maya announced on social media that it planned to open in October. Restaurant customers remained faithful and continued to post words of encouragement on the restaurant's Facebook page.

Then came the big announcement from Casa Maya on Tuesday night.
