Super Slow La Quinta Inn Finally Done In Shorewood
The La Quinta Inn hotel project was in its fourth year of construction in the village of Shorewood. It has finally opened for business.

SHOREWOOD, IL — If you were thinking the construction of Shorewood's La Quinta Inn & Suites would never finish during your lifetime, you've been proven wrong. The La Quinta is now open for business.
Around 6 p.m., Patch's editor drove the parking lot and saw more than a dozen travelers parked at the new hotel to stay here for their overnight lodging.
La Quinta becomes Shorewood's second hotel. The other is the Econo Lodge next door. Both are located along the frontage road overlooking Interstate 55.

In January, Patch reported that the La Quinta in Shorewood has turned into one of the slowest Will County hotel construction projects in recent history.
The village approved the project in 2016. In March of 2017, Mayor Rick Chapman announced during his state of the village speech that the new La Quinta would be open for business later that year.
Construction did not begin until January 2018.
According to Three Rivers Construction Alliance, the La Quinta Inn chose not to use any union laborers to build the hotel. Joliet's Local 75 picketed the site at the start of construction in January 2018.
