Trinity Christian School Student Delivers the Weather on WGN
Ten year old, Ashley Pilon, a fourth grader at Trinity Christian School appeared with Paul Konrad as WGN's Friday Forecaster
Ashley Pilon, a fourth grader at Trinity Christian School in Shorewood, appeared with meteorologist Paul Konrad as WGN TV’s Friday Forecaster on April 23rd. Ashley lives with her family in Minooka and shared that some of her favorite things to do are “singing and dancing”.
Jon Vugteveen, Trinity Christian School Administrator, stated “Ashley was selected because she demonstrates exemplary effort in the classroom. She is vibrant, creative and outgoing. Ashley leads by example and she looks for opportunities to bless others and live out her faith.”
According to their website, WGN selects students that attend schools in the Earth Networks.

Trinity Christian School became part of Earth Networks in October of 2015 when a “Weatherbug” weather station was installed on the roof of the Shorewood school.
The Weatherbug allows science classes to keep informed daily on the weather. The station tracts atmospheric conditions including, wind speed and direction, precipitation, temperature, humidity and more.

The weather station displays everything in real time and provides Trinity Christian School the ability to monitor ever changing weather patterns right at the Trinity Christian School campus. This impacts student safety and preparedness in the event of severe weather.
The weather station at Trinity Christian School was installed in memory of Melvin “Mel” and Betty Rull of Joliet, IL.
