District 303 Board Interviews 7 Candidates For Open Seat
The St. Charles District 303 school board is expected to fill former member Michael Bryant's vacant seat on Tuesday.
ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles District 303 school board on Monday interviewed seven candidates who are seeking to fill a seat left vacant by a former member’s unexpected resignation.
The candidates answered questions from board members during a three-hour meeting Monday night before the board went into a closed, executive session to choose former member Michael Bryant’s replacement.

The board interviewed seven candidates — Jeff Carpenter, Joseph Donaldson, Joseph Lackner, Jesse Mezera, Jennifer Schuh, Elizabeth Skubisz-Doren and Kelly Taylor — from a field of 22 applicants.
Board President Nick Manheim said he would reach out to the candidates Tuesday to inform them of the board’s decision, but no public announcement had been made by noon Tuesday.

Manheim on Monday thanked all 22 applicants for putting their names forward to help lead the district and said the extensive list of candidates “shows how involved everyone is in this community.”
“We had an amazing list of candidates that were all qualified. It made our job very difficult,” Manheim said. “We encourage you to continue to be a voice in the community and be the champion for the kids.”
