Education Foundation Awards Scholarships to Seniors

Four members of District 303's Class of '17 have been awarded $1000 scholarships.

From Community Unit School District 303: Four members of District 303’s Class of 2017 have been awarded scholarships of $1000 by the St. Charles Education Foundation. This year’s scholarship winners are St. Charles East students Alyssa Brown and Isabel Jasso, and St. Charles North students Taylor O’Brien and Breanne Warner. Alyssa Brown will attend Saint Louis University, Isabel Jasso is currently undecided about her college choice, Taylor O’Brien will attend Florida State University, and Breanne Warner will attend the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

The St. Charles Education Foundation awards these annual scholarships based on merit. These scholarships are just a portion of the support the Foundation provides to the students of District 303. Recently, the Foundation announced their annual grants in which they provided $35,000 in funds to support 24 teacher initiatives. Since the founding of the Education Foundation in 1992, the Foundation has provided over $1.2 million in grants and scholarships for the students of District 303.

The Education Foundation grants are funded by the support of community members through donations and the annual Gala held every April. The bulk of the donations come from the generosity of parents around the District who make pledges to support the Foundation at the start of each school year as parents pay student fees.
