ST. CHARLES, IL — Lenten season has officially begun — which means it's time for fish fry Fridays in and around Kane County. Plenty of local spots are frying up fish for those looking to abstain from meat on Fridays during Lent, or just looking to enjoy a good meal.

- Knights of Columbus Columbian Council #2191 — Friday Fish Fry: Riverview Banquet/KC Hall at 1117 N. Washington Avenue (Route 25), 5 p.m. to 8p.m. Friday, March 6, 13, 20, 27 and April 3; adults $15, children ages 5 to 12 $7, kids ages 4 and under eat free; baked cod, fried cod, fried catfish, breaded shrimp, rigatoni alla vodka, vegetable, french fries, hush puppies and salad, and includes soda or coffee and dessert.
