Shadwick King Takes the Stand in Geneva Murder Trial

King is accused of killing Kathleen King, his wife of 12 years.

Shadwick King took the stand Monday in the Kane County trial of the Geneva man who is accused of killing his wife. King says he “absolutely did not do it.”

“Shadwick King took the stand in his own defense and says he never physically harmed his wife of 12 years,” CBS Chicago is reporting. “He got emotional describing her after being questioned by his attorney Kelli Childress.”

The trial was delayed in late 2014 and began in February.

King is accused of killing his wife Kathleen King, whose body was found on the Union Pacific Railway tracks south of Esping Park, 227 Briar Lane, on July 6. Authorities said Kathleen died of asphyxiation at some point after 5 a.m. on July 6.
