St. Charles Hydrant Flushing Begins Next Week
Different areas of the city will have hydrant service on different days.
Every year, the City of St. Charles maintains the city water system by flushing hydrants. Flushing or opening hydrants allows water to flow rapidly through them, improves water quality and minimizes mineral build-up in the water mains. Hydrant flushing also ensures that hydrants are ready for emergency use.
- Northwest – Monday, April 13 – Friday, April 17
- Southwest – Monday, April 20 – Friday, April 24
- Southeast – Monday, April 27 – Friday, May 1
- Northeast (West of Dunham Road) – Monday, May 4 – Friday, May 8
- Northeast (East of Dunham Road) – Monday, May 11 –Friday, May 15
