St. Charles Man Charged With DUI Had BAC 4X Legal Limit: Police

Police said a St. Charles man had a BAC of more than 0.37 percent when he was arrested after a crash, according to a report.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A St. Charles man is facing several drunken-driving charges after police said his blood-alcohol content was more than four times the legal limit after a crash earlier in March, the Kane County Chronicle reports.

Todd Danner, 35, was charged March 8 with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC of .08 or more — both misdemeanors, according to Kane County court records. He also faces charges of driving too fast for conditions/failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to yield at an intersection.

Kane County deputies were called around 6:20 a.m. March 7 to a Rutland Township accident, in which Danner crashed his van into a pickup truck turning left at the intersection of Route 72 and Big Timber Road, the Kane County Chronicle reports.

Police said Danner had a blood-alcohol content of .372 percent, the report states.

Danner was combative with staff while being treated at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin and had to be restrained to the bed, the Chronicle reports. He is due to appear in court April 14, court records show.
