SUNDAY, NOV. 24, 2013


DUI Charged in One-Car Crash


Theodore Allen Provost Jr., 37, of the 100 block of Chapel Street, Elgin, was charged at 1:42 a.m. on the 4300 block of North 2nd Street (Route 31) with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a revoked license, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, and improper lane use. Police responding to a one-vehicle accident on North 2nd Street found Provost to be intoxicated. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.


Public Drunkenness


Jeremy J. Rader, 23, of the 700 block of Aztec Drive, Carol Stream, was cited at 1:05 a.m. at Cedar and North 3rd streets with disorderly conduct-public drunkenness. Officer stopped Radar who was outdoors with no jacket and appeared to be trying to start a fight with other men.

Fighting


Casey R. Nuckles, 43, of the 400 block of Martin Drive, South Elgin, was cited at 1:23 a.m. at 99 N. 3rd St. with fighting. According to the report, police were called to a fight in progress that had broken up by the time officers arrived. There, they learned Knuckles had knocked another man to the ground unexpectedly. The victim suffered some abrasions to the face.


Public Urination


Travis M. Eubanks, 23, of the 300 block of Juniper Lane, South Elgin, was cited at 1:57 a.m. on the 200 block of West Main Street with public urination after an officer saw him urinate on the front of 214 W. Main St.

Leaving an Accident Scene


Mary Irmazell Williams, 26, of the 00-99 block of Clifford Court, Elgin, was arrested at 10:57 a.m. on the 1700 block of East Main Street on charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving on a suspended license, and no insurance. The accident occurred at 1745 E. Main St., and no one was injured. Williams posted $200 cash bond and was released pending a Dec. 12, 2013 court appearance.


Camaro Stolen, Recovered


A resident of the 1700 block of Wessel Court reported at 1:11 p.m. that someone stole his Chevrolet Camaro while it was parked with the engine running between 12:40 and 1:10 p.m. in the lot at Jewel, 2073 Prairie St. St. Charles police notified Illinois State Police District 2, and Tricom contacted On Star, which reported that the vehicle was northbound on Randall Road in Lake in the Hills. Police in that area were notified, and Crystal Lake police soon reported that they had recovered the unoccupied vehicle in a gas station parking lot off Main Street and Crystal Lake Road. A clerk at the gas station told police he saw four people get out of the vehicle. Crystal Lake police took four people into custody, but it was not clear whether they would be charged. Police said the theft victim, Alexander B. Poyner, 22, would be cited with leaving an unattended vehicle with the engine running.


Telephone Harassment


Matthew Patrick Kerwin, 37, of the 00-99 block of Jane Drive, Elgin, was charged at 1:41 p.m. at the St. Charles Police Department, 211 N. Riverside Drive, with harassment by telephone. He posted $150 cash bond and was released pending a Dec. 19, 2013 court appearance.



Retail Theft


Erika Santos-Mejia, 34, of the 1200 block of Kings Cross, West Chicago, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. at Walmart, 150 Smith Road, on a charge of retail theft for leaving the store without paying for $72 in cosmetics and children’s clothing. She posted $150 bond and a $50 booking fee and was released pending a Dec. 12, 2013 appearance in DuPage County Court.


Retail Theft


Lee Curtis Coleman, 26, of the 6N800 block of Fox River Avenue, was charged at the Kane County Jail, 37W755 Route 38, with retail theft. Further details were not immediately available. He was held in the jail pending a court appearance.


FRIDAY, NOV. 22, 2013


Child’s Battery-Powered Toy Ride Car Stolen


A resident of the 200 block of North 15th Street reported at 3:18 p.m. that someone had stolen a battery-powered toy ride car resembling McQueen from the movie, “Cars.” The theft occurred between Nov. 15 and Nov. 22, and the toy was stolen from a common hallway in the apartment building. The car was valued at $100.


Turkey Theft at Jewel


Jewel, 652 N. Kirk Road, reported at 9:16 p.m. that a couple came in and picked up a Butterball Turkey, then left the store without paying for it. The couple used a self checkout lane and paid for $58 in other merchandize, but they did not scan the turkey, which was valued at between $20 and $25. A review of the receipt for the purchase confirmed the couple had not paid for the turkey.

Sale of Tobacco to a Minor


Franklin L. Robinson, 63, of the 900 block of Ziegler Avenue, Aurora, was cited at 5:30 p.m. at Frank’s Shoe Shine, 1405 N. 5th Ave., with sale of tobacco to a minor. He was cited during a St. Charles Police Department tobacco compliance inspection using two minors.


Warrant Arrest


Paul L. Garza Jr., 18, of the 35W300 block of Sunset Drive, was arrested at 8:29 p.m. at Redgate Road and Route 31 on a Kane County warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of aggravated battery. He also was cited with speeding-52 in a 35 mph zone. He was transported to the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance.

Trespass to a Vehicle


A resident of the 100 block of Walnut Street reported at 9:54 a.m. that overnight, someone had entered her vehicle and rummaged through the contents while it was parked in the lot at her home.

Trespassing, Theft


Daniel Edward Kupreisis, 23, homeless, was charged at 11:18 a.m. at 155 Walnut Drive with trespass to real property, and theft of more than $500. According to the report, Kupreisis took an Acer tablet and and an Apple iPhone 4S that belong to family members. Police caught up with Kupreisis, who was staying in a vacant apartment on Walnut Drive, where he was charged with trespassing and was arrested on a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear in court. He was released on his own recognizance on the theft and trespass charges but was transported to the DuPage County Jail pending a court appearance on the warrant.
