Tools Stolen in Burglary
An Elburn man reported at 1:52 p.m. that someone stole some tools he had been using from a residence he is renovating on the 100 block of South 13th St. When he first noticed the tools missing on Dec. 15, he first thought another worked had taken them, since he saw no signs of forced entry to the home, which has been kept locked when workers are not there. But on Tuesday, he noticed a basement window was ajar, and he called police. Stolen were a Dewalt cordless drill and battery charger valued at $200, a 3-inch belt sander valued at $150, a Dewalt plunger-style router valued at $600. The victim later also reported that a red appliance dolly valued at $200 had been stolen earlier — on Dec. 6 ot Dec. 7 — from the home’s backyard.

A resident reported at 3:51 p.m. the theft of an old license plate that he had bolted to the wall of his garage on the 1700 block of Lucylle Avenue. The resident told police he was not aware of the theft until he received a notice from the city of Chicago to pay a fine for an expired registration on a vehicle located on the 8700 block of Cottage Grove, Chicago. The resident told police the old plates were from his car, and he bolted them to the wall of his garage when he received new license plates for it.
iPod Stolen from Home
A couple living on the 2900 block of Black Walnut Lane reported at 12:53 p.m. that someone had stolen an iPod from near the front door of their home, where it was left when delivered by FedEx. The couple told police they found the box with the shipping tape no longer intact, and that the iPod and packing slip were not in the box. The couple told police one of them was at home when the delivery was made, but the FedEx driver made no attempt to contact anyone in the home before leaving the package by the door.

They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
