St. Charles Police To Conduct Extra DUI Patrols For St. Patrick’s Day
Additional officers will be working as part of the states "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns.
The St. Charles police department today announced extra officers are working this weekend as well as on St. Patrick’s Day. The officers will be patrolling city streets specifically looking for impaired drivers. The additional officers will be working as part of the states “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
The Department’s efforts also will be working in conjunction with of the Kane County States Attorney’s Office, which has initiated a county wide “No Refusal Weekend.”

“Our department will be taking this proactive approach to ensure drivers are being responsible to not only themselves but others on the roads as well,” said Commander Rich Clark. “The weekend surrounding St. Patricks’ day historically has been one of the deadliest on Illinois roads. We strongly encourage anyone who plans to be out use a designated driver or other means of safe transportation.”
The Illinois “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” programs are administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal highway safety funds managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
