Teachers Convention Hit by Vehicle Break-ins

Someone smashed windows to two cars parked near the Mega Center at Pheasant Run Resort. One teacher lost about $200 in teaching supplies.

St. Charles police are investigating two vehicle burglaries that occurred during a teachers convention Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at the Mega Center at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St.


Police were called to the resort at 2:05 p.m. to take both reports.


In the first instance, a Riverside, Ill., woman reported that while she was attending the convention, someone smashed the rear driver-side window of her Toyota Sienna between 9 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., while it was parked in the Mega Center’s east lot. The woman said a black Swiss Army bag containing school supplies was missing. It was valued at about $200. Damage to the window as estimated at $200.

In the second incident, a Chicago woman who parked near the first victim reported that between 8:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., someone smashed out her rear driver-side window, too, although nothing was reported missing from her Chevrolet Equinox.
