Verizon Worker Took Sex Images From Customer's Phone: Authorities

The St. Charles man was working at a store in Huntley when he transferred the images to his phone, according to authorities.

HUNTLEY, IL — A Kane County judge found a Verizon employee who transferred five sexual images of a customer from her phone to his while assisting her at a Huntley store in September 2018 guilty of a felony charge last week.

Justin D. Devine, 26, of St. Charles, now could be headed to prison. He is scheduled to appear for a sentencing hearing on March 24 in Kane County and faces between one and three years in prison or probation.

Kane County Associate Judge David P. Kliment handed down the guilty verdict on the charge of nonconsensual dissemination of a sex image during a bench trial on Jan. 15.

Authorities say Devine, of the 6N block of Juniper Court in St. Charles, was working at the Verizon retail store in the 12000 block of Route 47 in Huntley on Sept. 19, 2018, when a female customer came in looking for help with her phone, according to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office. She gave Devine her phone so he could assist her.

"When confronted by Huntley police, Devine admitted that the victim’s accusations were true. Huntley police found the images on Devine’s cell phone," prosecutors said in a news release.
