10-Year Sentence for Man Who Imprisoned and Raped Girl

The man, who is related to the victim, kept the girl from leaving his home and did not allow her to go to school.

Nicacio Jaimes-Moreno, 52, was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday and the judge said he had “violated the most basic norms of civil society,” the Chicago Sun Times is reporting.

The West Chicago resident imprisoned and repeatedly raped a young girl, to whom he was related, over a four-year period.

U.S. District Judge John Tharp said that Jaimes-Moreno’s crime was all the worse because he had deprived the girl of an education and that he would have given Jaimes-Moreno more than the legal maximum of 10 years in prison, had he been able, the Chicago Sun-Times said.
