56 Tickets Doled Out For 4th Of July Crackdown In DuPage County
The citations included 40 speeding tickets, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office doled out 56 traffic tickets for speeding violations and other traffic offenses as part of its 2021 Fourth of July crackdown. The increased patrols were part of the Illinois Department of Transportation's ongoing "Click It or Ticket" and "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaigns.
The DuPage County Sheriff's Office arrested one person for a traffic offense, but made no arrests for impaired driving during the heightened enforcement, which ran from June 17 through July 6.
In total, the sheriff's office issued four tickets for seatbelt violations, 40 tickets for speeding violations, five tickets for distracted driving and seven tickets for unspecified traffic offenses.
