81 New Coronavirus Cases In 24 Hours In DuPage County

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — DuPage County has seen 81 new coronavirus cases and two deaths in the past 24 hours, according to theDuPage County Health Department (DCHD). In total, there have been 76,765 coronavirus cases and 1,196 deaths in DuPage County as of Sunday, Illinois Department of Public Health reports.

The news comes as total cases in Illinois reach 1,186,696. The statewide death toll from coronavirus was at 20,516 as of Sunday and the recovery rate was 98 percent, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

DuPage County's system of reporting shows confirmed coronavirus cases in age groups from 0 through 9 years old to 80 and older. It also includes a breakdown of cases by municipality.

According to the county's breakdown, the majority of cases have affected those between the ages of 40 and 70, but all age ranges had confirmed cases. In recent weeks, there has been an uptick in cases among residents who are 20-29 years old.

The risk of coronavirus transmission in DuPage County is currently classified as "substantial."
