Adoptable Dachshund Mix Hoping For His Forever Home
Reggie was emaciated when he was rescued after being abandoned for months. Now he's looking for his forever home.

WHEATON, IL — If any animal deserves a happy home, it's Reggie. Reggie, an adorable standard dachshund mix, was found abandoned in a home, according to Chicago Animal Advocates. The owner would come to feed Reggie and another dog, but eventually stopped showing up. That's when a neighbor called CAA to report Reggie.
Reggie and the other dog had little human contact in that 9-month period, according to Chicago Animal Advocates. Unfortunately, the other dog died before it could be rescued.
When Reggie was rescued, he was emaciated and battled an upper respiratory infection. Chicago Animal Advocates told Patch Reggie has undergone extensive training to help him rehabilitate after the abandonment.

Reggie is about three years old and needs a forever family that will help keep up with his training, CAA told Patch. "He's a really sweet dog but needs a strong adopter who's not gonna let him have run of the house," CAA said.
Reggie is best suited for a home with adults or older children where he can get all the attention he needs.
