Armed Man Robs Lisle Aldi

Aldi was robbed Monday.

A man with a gun robbed the Lisle Aldi at 5525 Route 53 Monday at 2:35 p.m.

Police said the man entered the store and attempted to take cash from an open drawer. When an employee tried to close the drawer the man displayed a silver/grey large framed handgun.

After taking cash from the drawer, the man left the store and was followed on foot to a silver and grey four door sedan. The man entered the sedan and fled eastbound on Maple Avenue.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The man is described as:

  • White
  • 20 to 30 years old
  • 5 feet 8 inches, 160 pounds
  • Black, possibly "Hurly" baseball style hat
  • Black jacket
  • Blue jeans
  • Silver/grey large framed semiautomatic handgun
