Cantigny Park Offers Virtual Events That Delve Into World War 2
The free virtual events are slated for Aug. 20 and Sept. 10.

WHEATON, IL — The First Division Museum at Wheaton's Cantigny Park will offer two free virtual events that delve deeper into the history of World War II. The events are slated for Aug. 20 and Sept. 10 and pre-registration is required.
On Aug. 20, the museum will present "The Forgotten African Americans of World War II: The Fight for Freedom at Home and Abroad." Linda Hervieux, author of "Forgotten: The Untold Story of D-Day’s Black Heroes, at Home and at War," will discuss the unsung Black heroes of World War II and how Black soldiers contributed to the war.
On Sept. 10, author David Chrisinger will host an event discussing war correspondent Ernie Pyle's work when he was with the First Infantry Division in North Africa.
