Cantigny Park To Reopen To Public Monday With Restrictions

Park grounds and gardens will be open with social distancing and other precautions in place.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton's Cantigny Park is set to reopen to the public Monday, but with restrictions in place to help protect visitors from the new coronavirus. Cantigny will reopen, but only the park's grounds and gardens will be accessible for the time being and daily visitation will be capped "at appropriate levels," according to park officials.

Visitors will be required to practice social distancing and to wear face coverings when using restrooms in the visitors' center at Cantigny Park. Face coverings will not be required for visitors when they are outside.

Apart from restrooms, the park's visitors' center will remain closed, as will McCormick House and the First Division Museum. Cantigny's playgrounds and army tanks will also be off-limits during this phase of reopening.

Cantigny Park began a phased reopening for members only at the start of June.

Whereas Cantigny Park's golf course has reopened, park events and programs set for July have been postponed, canceled or moved to a virtual format.
