City Of Wheaton: Road Closures Associated With 2021 Independence Day Events

The Wheaton Park District will be hosting the Independence Day Fireworks and Parade on July 3 and July 4, 2021, respectively.

Fireworks ActivitiesThe 2021 Fireworks Display will be on Saturday, July 3, at Graf Park, 1855 Manchester Road, at approximately 9 p.m. Spectator viewing and activities will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Graf Park and concluding at 9:30 p.m.

During this time, motorists can expect traffic delays on:

Please use extra caution for pedestrians who are going to and from this event, and follow parking regulations and posted signs.

Parade The 2021 Fourth of July Parade will be held on Sunday, July 4, beginning at 11 a.m.

The parade route will begin at Main Street and Hawthorne Boulevard, traveling south on Main Street then turning west (right) onto Union Avenue, concluding at Memorial Park. This year’s announcing and judging will take place on Union Avenue between Hale Street and Wheaton Avenue. 

The following major streets will be closed:

Several side streets along North Main Street, particularly East Parkway Drive and East Hawthorne Boulevard, will be temporarily closed for staging parade entrants. Visit the City's website for a map of the road closures for the parade.

During these events, these streets will be adequately staffed with uniformed Police Officers to assist and direct traffic. The City asks that residents, citizens, and motorists cooperate in not moving the barricades to ensure the safety of everyone.

Motorists may experience temporary traffic delays and may choose to alter their travel route to avoid these areas.
