Construction To Cause Traffic Detour On Main Street In Wheaton

WHEATON, IL — This city of Wheaton will be doing construction that will result in a block of Main Street being closed with a detour starting Thursday, city officials said in an update. Main Street will be closed between Front and Wesley Streets for about two weeks, weather permitting.

The closure comes as an extra construction crew is being brought out to work on Wheaton's ongoing streetscape project. City officials added that the work is being done now to limit the impact on traffic and local businesses, as many are closed during Governor J.B. Pritzker's stay-at-home order.
