WHEATON, IL — Cosley Zoo recently welcomed a new addition to its animal family: a brand new baby Nubian goat. The female kid was delivered by Buttercup on May 14 weighing in at 7 pounds, according to a Cosley Zoo Director Susan Wahlgren.

Wahlgren told Patch that mama Buttercup is very attentive. She added that the new doe kid is "very independent and rambunctious" and that her neighbors, llamas named Franklin and Cora, "find her antics very amusing."

Wahlgren added that the baby doe, who has not yet been named, just had her first checkup and got a clean bill of health.
