Cozymel's Will Not Reopen Under Current Ownership
The restaurant announced Monday that it will not reopen under its current ownership and is "exploring options."

WHEATON, IL — After more than 25 years serving the Wheaton community, Cozymel's is in danger of being forced to close its doors for good. The Mexican restaurant announced Monday via Facebook that it will not reopen under its current ownership due to the coronavirus crisis.
The Cozymel's announcement said the restaurant is "exploring [its] options" and asked residents who have "any interest in restaurant ownership and want to save this amazing brand" to contact them.

Cozymel's went on to thank the customers who have supported them throughout the years and say they hope they have not served their last guest. They wrote a thank you "for letting us serve you, host your weddings, parties, memorials, first dates, and anniversaries. Thanks for all the memories. We will miss you."
In just under an hour, the post already had dozens of comments from customers showing their support and sharing memories of Cozymel's. One fan wrote, "Our favorite place for birthday celebrations. So very sorry to hear this." Another wrote, "This is really sad and I hope someone invests and saves it."
