WHEATON, IL — Danada Equestrian Center has planned a baby shower to welcome its newest addition, Duke, the first horse born at the equestrian center in 10 years.

Duke was born on May 25 to Daisy, a six-year-old Pecheron quarter horse. Daisy was pregnant with Duke when she first came to Danada Equestrian Center and the center found out during a pre-purchase exam.

This means the costs for Duke's health care were not initially in the budget for Danada Equestrian Center. The fundraiser aims to raise $3,000 for veterinary bills, training and other care for Duke. Any amount raised over $3,000 will be used for Danada Equestrian Center's team of lesson horses.
