DuPage Co. Plans Seat Belt, Impaired Driving Crackdown

The Thanksgiving crackdown will take place between Nov. 20 and Nov. 30.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office is planning to increase patrols this Thanksgiving to crack down on seat belt and impaired driving violations.

The crackdown, part of the statewide Click It or Ticket and Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaigns, will take place between Nov. 20 and Nov. 30, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

“On regular days and holidays alike, law enforcement too often see the results of driving
impaired and not wearing a seat belt,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Justin Kmitch said in the news release. “They are both tragic and preventable. Whether you’re driving cross-country or across the street, please remember to wear your seat belt and make a plan for a sober ride home.”
