DuPage County Sheriff's Office To Dole Out 1K Turkey Dinners
The turkey dinners will be distributed to food pantries and local seniors for Thanksgiving.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office plans to donate 1,000 turkey dinners to residents in need for Thanksgiving. The donation comes via a partnership with Roselle-based Electri-Flex and School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education (SCARCE).
Electri-Flex donated turkeys and pans and the sheriff's office and other partners will donate "500 boxes of stuffing, 3,000 cans of corn, 1,000 cans of cranberry sauce and countless potatoes, vegetables and desserts," according to a news release.
“We’re going through some extremely hard times right now, everywhere. I’m glad we’re in a
position to help so many families during a holiday season when they would have had nothing,”
Sheriff James Mendrick said in the news release. “Public safety is changing its role as the needs of the people change. We are so grateful to our partners at Electri-Flex and SCARCE for this collaboration.”
