“High voter turnout reflects the enthusiasm for democracy. When voters don’t exercise their franchise, they allow those who do to make decisions for them which impact their lives,” County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek said in a news release.

Kaczmarek added, “When more people vote, it gives governments and those that are elected to run them greater legitimacy.”

At press time, 202,764 voters have applied for mail ballots and 85,983 have been verified.

Kaczmarek urged voters who have not received their mail-in ballots to complete and turn them in as soon as possible. Voters can submit their mail-in ballots via USPS Mail or click the link for a list of drop boxes to submit mail-in ballots.
