WHEATON, IL — An electrical fire damaged a Wheaton home's garage early Monday morning.

The fire broke out around 4:45 a.m. in the 400 block of North Washington. Fire officials say the residents evacuated the house safely and were not injured, according to a news release.

After "several minutes," fire crews were able to contain the blaze, the news release said.

The fire was deemed to be accidental and unrelated to Sunday evening's storms. The homeowners were able to return to the house after the fire, officials said.
