Featured Adoptable A.R.F Pet of the Week – Tundra
As the weather heats up, check out this week's cool adoptable boy, Tundra
Are you looking for a new four-legged best friend? A.R.F.-Animal Rescue foundation has many cats and dogs available for adoption. We're based in Wheaton, IL and perform pet adoptions in DuPage County.
Say hello to 4-year old Tundra, a good-natured, Great Pyrenees mix. He has tons of the true Great Pyrenees traits with a little less fluff. Originally bred to protect sheep and livestock, Great Pyrenees are known for their calm, gentle nature, and devotion to family.

Tundra is full of affection and will treat you like his herd. He loves being with his foster family when home, whether moving around or relaxing on the couch, and isn’t afraid to investigate strange sounds. He loves opportunities to explore new environments.

Tundra’s an independent thinker and, as a large breed, strong, so he’ll need some guidance in certain situations. Fortunately, he responds well to tons of positive reinforcement and is very food motivated. He tends to pull if using a collar or harness but does well with gentle instruction.

A backyard with a fence is required as Tundra likes to be outdoors and loves running around. He loves chewing on bones and playing with toys, especially the soft/fluffy ones, and will occasionally guard his toys from others. He gets along well with other dogs and would love to join a home with another dog who could keep him company and show him how to be a great boy (though not required).

Tundra is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and neutered as of 9/16/20. His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.
