Glen Ellyn Man Injured in Rome Dies

The man was injured in a fall while studying abroad in Rome.

Andrew Mogni, 20, died at 11:25 a.m. Sunday at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the Chicago Tribune is reporting.

The Glen Ellyn native was a studying at the University of Iowa and was injured shortly after he arrived for a semester-long program at John Cabot University in Trastevere, an administrative district in Italy’s capital city, the Tribune reported.

He was injured on January 14 and may have been the victim of a robbery.

“A medical team cleared Mogni on March 20 to travel back to the Chicago area, according to the University of Iowa statement,” The Tribune reported.
