Graveside Lecture Focuses on Foulis Family's Impact on the History of Golf
The lecture will be held on Saturday at Wheaton Cemetery.

In the 1880s, the Foulis family brought their expertise and love of golf to Wheaton and became a part of U.S. golf history.
As part of Preservation Month, the Wheaton Historic Commission encourages you to attend the lecture “The Foulis Family of Wheaton and Their Impact on the History of Golf in the Midwest” at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wheaton Cemetery, 1209 Warrenville Road.

After emigrating from Scotland in the late 1800s, the Foulis family brought their expertise and love of golf to America. The Wheaton Historic Commission and the Wheaton Cemetery Association will host a lecture by Bob Jacobsen, Chairman of the Milton Township Cemeteries, on the Foulis family and the part they play in the history of golf in Wheaton and in the U.S. The lecture will take place at the Foulis family gravesites in Wheaton Cemetery. Jacobsen is an avid golf memorabilia collector and knowledgeable on the Foulis family’s role in golf history. Jacobsen will display Foulis-related and antique golf items.
