Happy Mother's Day From Adam J. Bilecki

"The real reason that I'm writing this is to say I love you for who you are and what you've done for me, big or small."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Adam J. Bilecki's letter to his mom:

Dear Mom,

I love you for reasons you will never know. You were always there for me when I least suspected it and were never afraid of anything in life — even the things that have brought me to tears.

I know I’ve made bad mistakes in life and that we both pray I don’t make them again. The real reason that I’m writing this is to say I love you for who you are and what you’ve done for me, big or small. You’ve always put me and others before yourself because you cared.

You mean a lot to me, and I never want to lose your love admiration or respect. We don’t always see eye-to-eye, but you know me better than anyone and I love you for that.

I love you for who you were, are and still want to be: a painter, mother, sister, wife, mentor, teacher, aunt, cousin, bra burner, photographer, hippie, business woman, real estate agent and much more.

On this special day I want you to get everything you ever hoped for — flowers, chocolates, slippers, robes and then some. From my heart to your home I will be there in spirit and on the phone to join in your special day, celebrating with you in your new home with all your glass tchotchkes and candy.

I love you, Mom, and I will honor you until the day I die.

—Adam J. Bilecki
