Large Police Presence After Person Flees Traffic Stop, Found
Wheaton police said the person was taken into custody without incident around 12:30 p.m.

WHEATON, IL — Police have taken a person into custody who they said fled an earlier traffic stop. A large police presence in the areas near Northside Park, Wheaton North High School and the Theosophical Society was due to searching for the man.
City officials posted the update online just before noon to explain a "large police presence" in the area. By 12:33 p.m., Wheaton police said the man was taken into custody without incident.
The police department added that local residents assisted in providing information leading to the individual's capture.

There was no threat to the community throughout the search, police said.
