Leprechaun Lap 5K Info, Road Closures In Wheaton
Several roads will be temporarily closed from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

WHEATON, IL -- St. Patrick's Day weekend is upon us, which brings the Inaugural Leprechaun Lap 5K to Wheaton. The 5K, which is set for March 16 at 8 a.m., will cause temporary road closures throughout the race area.
The Leprechaun Lap race kicks off at 8 a.m. at Washington Elementary School, 911 Bridle Lane. Proceeds from the race benefit Washington Elementary School students. If you haven't registered for the Leprechaun Lap 5K, you can still register on race day or stop by to watch the race.
City officials say that the following streets will be temporarily closed on March 16 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to accommodate the Leprechaun Lap 5K:

- Parkway between President and Main Strees
- Ranch Road between President and Washington Streets
- Countryside Drive between President and Washington Streets
- Bridle Lane between President and Washington Streets
- Driving Park Road between Geneva Road and Parkway Drive.
- Washington Street between Driving Park and Franklin Street.
- Cole Avenue between Main and Washington Streets
- Turf Lane between Washington Street and Driving Park Road.
- Hawthorne Boulevard between Main and Washington Streets
- Wakeman Avenue between Main Street and Santa Rosa Avenue and Cadillac Drive.
- Scott Street between Wakeman and Franklin Avenues
- Prairie Avenue between Main Street and Santa Rosa Avenue.
- Oak Avenue between Main and Washington Streets
- Forest Avenue between Main and Washington Streets
- Harrison Avenue between Scott and Washington Streets
- Madison Avenue between Main and Washington Streets
- Jefferson Avenue between Main and Washington Streets
- Lincoln Avenue between Main and Washington Streets
- Franklin Street between Main and Washington Streets
- Santa Rosa Avenue between Prairie Avenue and Cadillac Drive and Wakeman Avenue
City officials say that police officers will be on hand to help direct the flow of traffic.
