Mariachi Bands, Special Eats Planned For Frida Fridays In Wheaton
The downtown Wheaton festivities celebrate College of DuPage's Frida Kahlo: Timeless exhibition.
WHEATON, IL —Frida Fridays will bring mariachi bands, window art, folk dancing, margarita crawls and special menu items to downtown Wheaton to celebrate the Frida Kahlo: Timeless exhibition at College of DuPage.
Residents can check out live entertainment June 4, July 9 and Aug. 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The monthly offerings include:
- Mariachi bands
- Folklore dancers
- Walking Fridas
- DJ Suave Smooth
Leroy Winn will perform live tune at the Innovator Hale Street Tent June 4 and July 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 pm.

From June 4 through August, downtown Wheaton businesses will get on board with Frida Kahlo-inspired merchandise and menu items. Shop windows will be adorned with creations by Jose Art, Cristobal Cavazos, Danielle Crilly, St. Mike's Parish and Community Unit District 200 students.
Other activities include events at Wheaton Public Library and Wheaton Chamber of Commerce.
