New Coronavirus Cases Dip Slightly In Wheaton
Since March 2020, Wheaton has seen 3,874 coronavirus cases, according to DuPage County Health Department.

WHEATON, IL — In Wheaton, the number of coronavirus cases has increased by 39 cases in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). This reflects a slight decrease over the previous week, in which Wheaton saw 44 new coronavirus cases.
As of Feb. 23, there had been 3,835 coronavirus cases reported in Wheaton. The total number of cases reported in Wheaton as of March 2 was 3,874.

In Glen Ellyn, the number of coronavirus cases has increased by 25 cases in the past week. On Feb. 23, the village had reported 2,723 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 2,748 as of March 2.

Glen Ellyn has had 36 coronavirus-related deaths since March. Wheaton has had 58 confirmed deaths since the county started tracking its coronavirus numbers, DCHD data shows.
DuPage County recently reported that close to one in seven residents had received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The county also marked another milestone as its overall coronavirus positivity rate dropped to 3.4 percent, its lowest point since June 2020.
The risk of transmission in DuPage County is currently classified as "substantial."
