Joliet Township West graduate, Class of 1986, will always be remembered for her cooking, her determination, and her love of animals.

Karry Ann Coatney

Karry Ann (nee Hubbard) Coatney, age 52, of Shorewood, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at home. Karry had bravely battled several medical conditions over the past several years.

Born January 15, 1968 in Joliet, she was a graduate of Joliet Township West High School, class of 1986.

Karry was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She always put her children first and their needs came before her own. She will be remembered for her delicious cooking, her stubborn determination, and her love of animals.

Surviving are her two beloved children, Chase Coatney of Morris, and Emery Coatney at home; her parents, Dean and Andrea Hubbard of Elwood; three sisters, Jodi Hubbard of Shorewood, Shelly (the late Tony) Contreras and Kelly (Jim) Sgarlata, both of New Lenox; one brother, Rob (Lisa) Kroehnke of Wheaton; her former husband Rick Coatney of St. Anne; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cooper Elizabeth Coatney; her mother, Arvetta (Reibel) Hubbard; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Cremation rites have been accorded per her request, and a celebration of Karry’s life will be held at a future date.
